From a central location at Westmead, NETS ground ambulances can reach all parts of metropolitan Sydney equitably. From the dedicated roof-top heliport, NETS teams can reach all but distant parts of NSW by helicopter. Helicopter departures can occur without air traffic clearances; expediting the process of reaching rural hospitals. For a fixed wing response, NETS teams travel by road ambulance to Kingsford Smith Airport (30-50 minutes) while the aircraft is prepared.
