Newsletter No.3 ~ April 9th 2008
With a little under three weeks to go until the start,
things are really starting to heat up. We are pleased to let everyone know that
all plans are locked into place and the town of
We have enlisted the help of Brian and John “Boppa” Mooney who have been of fantastic assistance to us. They have been hard at work on surveys, general organising and the “NETSworking” that has been going on has been amazing. Our database is growing by the day and whilst it is short notice for some, we already have several entrants for next year and some great ideas and opportunities in the pipeline!!
We are really excited about the direction that the event is taking and hopefully, with your help, we can make a huge difference to help NETS continue their great work.
Entry Forms & Fundraising
At this stage, our priority is working out quantities for catering and for that purpose we need your help. To ensure that we can adequately cater for everyone we need to know exactly how many people will be travelling with us.
We thank those who have sent their entry forms in already and ask those who have not to please do so as soon as possible. We are able to accept donations right up until the start but we need your entry forms now so that we can allocate accommodation and order food for catering.
Also, when sending your entry form in, please make a note of how many adults and how many children are travelling with you. Entry forms can be downloaded from the NETS website www.nets.org.au
We agree that there is not long to go now which makes fundraising even more difficult. If you are having trouble raising the full donation please contact us as we can help!
Also, a reminder that donation cheques need to be made payable to “NETS” and are fully tax deductible.
Entry forms and donations are to be sent

Meal Ticket
As mentioned previously, each person must purchase a meal ticket which includes all meals and accommodation during the event. The cost is $250 for adults and $150 for children up to the age of 15.
We are catering the event ourselves so the meal money needs to be made payable to AME Pty Ltd. We have set up this company specifically for this event so that we can keep accurate accounting records. It is a non-profit venture so any surplus money after suppliers have been paid will also be donated to NETS.
Please let us know as soon as possible if you, or your children, have any special diet requirements or allergies.
Accommodation
We will be pre-allocating all accommodation available at the Hill End Ranch and will direct you on arrival.
The bulk of the accommodation is small rooms or converted train carriages with either one set of bunk beds or two. There are several shared facilities in each section. The ranch provides a bottom sheet, pillow & pillowcase and doona. You will need to bring your own towel and we suggest an extra blanket or sleeping bag in case it is cold!
There is also the option of camping in the grounds of the ranch should you wish to take advantage of this opportunity. We have some entrants already who have decided to camp. If you want to join them, you will need to provide your own tent but you will be able to use all the facilities of the ranch and there are several large camp fires to keep you warm.

What to Bring?
In terms of safety, there are several items that you must have in your vehicle including a first aid kit, snatch strap for towing, torch, fire extinguisher, 40-channel UHF radio and a container of water (10Ltrs +).
In addition to the above, we are also asking for each person to bring a chair as our lunch stops are in picnic areas so there is only limited seating available. As mentioned above, you will also need to bring an extra blanket or sleeping bag.
Uniden Offer
It is a requirement of the event that you have a UHF radio fitted to your vehicle. One of suppliers have put together a great deal which includes a quality Uniden 40 channel UHF radio and aerial for only $349. Please contact Steve on 0418 165 264 to order or for more details.
Can you help?
As we are catering the event ourselves, we have been approaching companies to assist us in the supply of product. If you have any contacts that might be able to help in this area, an introduction would be greatly appreciated!
