Clinical Electronic Database ~ $250,000
The NETS clinical electronic database is the heart of the clinical coordination centre and crucial component in the delivery of NETS service.
Currently NETS uses a 25 year-old DOS-based database which needs replacing with a more sophisticated system with links to hospital systems and other improved functionalities.
A new database would:
- Improve efficiency of tasking and transport; resulting in improved patient outcomes.
- Reduce duplication of information entry by referring hospital, NETS, Retrieval team and Receiving hospital resulting in less error and greater efficiency.
- Provide a more user-friendly database
- Support critical decision-making by providing detailed information about capabilities and personnel at every hospital as well as comprehensive clinical information (including x-rays).
- Enable teams to enter and access information in transit.
- Allow growth with new technology as it becomes available.
- Report activity to assist improvement in quality of care.
