30th May 2008 Humpty hands over new NETS ambulance. At the Balmoral Burn dinner tonight, a crowd of 500 witnessed the hand-over of a $156,000 ambulance to NETS. Made possible by the generosity of two Humpty supporters; the Gunn Group and the Wilson Family, this latest ambulance was delivered and configured in record time and will be in service in the first week of June 2008. 5th May 2008 Health Minister Reba Meagher visits NETS to tour the facility, meet the staff and announce the '"SNaP" bed. SNaP is Statewide Neonatal and Paediatric bed; representing six additional nurses and equipment which can support the care of a NETS-transferred patient after admission to an intensive care unit. In times of high demand on the health system, this will permit a unit to accept a patient even if their own staff are fully committed to other patients and they would otherwise have had to say no. April 26th 2008 4WD4Kids adventure enjoyed by over 85 people in 25 cars assisted by 11 support vehicles. 4WDs and some 2WD adventurers(!) completed a fun but challenging long weekend in aid of NETS. After a sizzling breakfast outside the NETS Base, entrants toured the Base before driving to 'NETSVille'; somewhere in the Blue Mountains. Accommodation was in Hill End where event volunteers cooked and served great meals and hospitality. On Saturday night NETSville was entertained by Super Hubert and his magical humour as well as John Paul Young performing live with Warren 'Pig' Morgan on keyboard. Many members of the local community joined in the fun. Over $50,000 is expected to be raised by the event. March 7th 2008 Humpty Dumpty Foundation
donated $156,000 for a new Ambulance to NETS - complete with specialist
fit-out. At the annual "Good Egg Lunch", NETS was selected
as the major recipient by Humpty Donation Foundation - the well known
children's charity. Humpty is famous for the annual 'Balmoral
Burn' which has raised over $6 million dollars since starting
in 2001. This might be the world's shortest 'fun-run' at just 420
metres but it takes the puff out of most. We're just glad at NETS
that this great charity has given "puff" to a new ambulance
for NETS! January 5th 2007 NSW Government gazetted NETS as an November 10th 2006 The NSW Premier September 2006 A new Mercedes Sprinter ambulance for NETS was donated by the Rotary
Club of Sydney. It is now in use around the clock transporting
sick & injured newborns, infants and children. |
