The NETS Line |
The NETS Line is a 24 hour clinical hotline provided for hospitals
and physicians to reach the NETS Clinical Coordination Centre. |
Voice response technology is used to speed up access to the services
offered by NETS. Since Clinical Coordinators deal with emergency calls
as a priority over other calls, this system permits callers to be connected
directly to a particular hospital for advice or transfers not requiring
retrieval without waiting for the Clinical Coordinator to answer. It
also allows requests for semi-elective cases to be left on voice mail. |

All options can be reached through the hotline number and are
shown diagrammatically on a map. |

Calls are answered by a NETS nurse or doctor. Details are recorded
on log sheets. |
||
|
All
calls are automatically recorded on tape to allow coordinators instant
play back of calls to verify details. Recordings also provide a formal
record of information given and clinical recommendations made. |
||
|
Written
information supplementing calls to the NETS Line can be emailed and/or
faxed. A telephone call is required to notify NETS that this information
is being sent. |
