Instructions for Perinatal
Information System (Bedstate)

CLICK on the Perinatal
Information System icon

CLICK on Select Profile aberry

USERNAME & PASSWORD (case sensitive)

CLICK on Login
This will open up the Perinatal Information System (Bedstate)
As you move the mouse around, the arrow changes to a ‘finger’ whenever there is a link to click on.
Clicking on a linke when a finger shows will open up a fresh screen with more information.

the names of the NETS Advisor and check that the statewide PAL adviser is
current.
Just above the Perinatal Bedstate name is a series of option tabs
“Overview [Perinatal] [Other] [Facility] [User]
[Consultants] [Help] [Log out]”

CLICK on [OTHER] — revealing option tabs: “[NETS]
[Perinatal Advisors] [PSN]”

CLICK on [NETS Advisor]

Change the duty consultant name at 08:00
It is (currently) necessary to put a name in for both the Primary consultant and the Secondary consultant (eg. Fellow, backed up by Consultant). For the time being, when there is only a single consultant on, select any name for the secondary consultant.

Once you have made the daily changes, CLICK
on Update.

The changes will not be displayed until the page is
reloaded. CLICK on Reload.

CLICK on Reload.
If there has been no
activity for a time, the system will require a fresh login.

CLICK on [Perinatal]

CLICK on the area of interest:
a.
To check bed details in detail,
click on bed numbers or date/time of last update.
b.
To seek details on ‘people’, click
on their name.
To make changes for a Unit,
the login name must be for that particular unit. NETS has been given
log-in names for The Canberra Hospital and Nepean Hospital – to assist with data
entry.
After making any changes, CLICK on Reload. to see the changes displayed.
The Perinatal Information can remain up on the screen continuously. There is no need to shut it down.
When a neonatal call comes in, CLICK on Reload, so the bedstate will be updated
with the most recent information while the call is in progress. This means that
current information will be available prior to calling a destination hospital.
