Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF)
C130 aircraft are based at Richmond and available for long-distance medical emergency flights (international and domestic). These are costly aircraft to operate and usually only available when there is no alternative. Tasking air force resources requires permission at a senior level. This officer (usually at Wing Commander level) is at Glenbrook (lower Blue Mountains).

Medical facilities for adults are located at Number 3 Hospital at the Richmond Base. Clinical staff from this base invariably travel with us. They look after any adults involved in the medical flight.
