Dr Andrew Berry AM | FRACP
Andrew trained in paediatrics and then neonatology in Sydney. He
started 'retrieving' patients in 1978 and has spent more than 40 years
improving neonatal and paediatric critical care referral and transport
services in NSW. He established NETS which evolved from some six ad hoc
hospital-based services into a single statewide service in 1995.
He was co-founder of Child Flight, a specialist neonatal/paediatric
helicopter provider which supported NETS from 1989 to 2013.
He has advised on the development of neonatal and paediatric medical
retrieval services in England, Scotland, Canada, Hong Kong, Brunei,
Malaysia and several Australian states.
He is widely published in the area of Transport Medicine. He is a
founding member of the Aeromedical Society of Australasia and Board
member since its inception in 1985; including many years as President.
He is a member of the Air Medical Physicians' Association and the
Medevac Foundation International - including as long time Board member
of both.
