Dr Michael McCarron | MBChB MRCPCH PGCERT FRACP
Dr Michael McCarron is a Retrieval Specialist at NETS & a Paediatric
Emergency Medicine Specialist at the Sydney Children's Hospital.
He completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of
Dundee, Scotland, and his postgraduate Paediatric Emergency Medicine
specialist training across the UK before moving to Sydney in 2019. He
achieved FRACP in January 2022.
Michael is actively involved in clinical research. His interests include
paediatric trauma, equity of access to healthcare and paediatric
retrieval. He is currently leading a study at NETS into the impact of a
paediatric retrieval team on morbidity outcomes in paediatric trauma
patients requiring inter-hospital retrieval to a paediatric trauma centre
in NSW. This study will form his thesis submission to the Master of
Philosophy (Medicine) degree at the University of Sydney.
He represents NETS on the ACI Rural Referral Emergency Advisory Group and
CHW trauma committee.
Michael is a keen sailor and spends most Saturdays racing on Sydney
Harbour (one of the many reasons he has chosen to call Sydney, "home").
