Prof Alison Kent is a Professor of Neonatology with an adjunct
position with the University of Rochester, NY, USA and has Honorary
Professor status with the Australian National University in Canberra,
ACT, Australia. She is an experienced neonatologist and clinical
researcher. She worked for many years in Canberra, developing a
neonatal retrieval service for the local region and then collaborating
with NSW NETS to enhance the service more widely around the surrounding
NSW region as well as the ACT.
In her neonatal training she did a large number of retrievals in South
Australia as well as in Canada. More recently she has worked at the
University of Rochester, NY, USA as the Director of Clinical Neonatal
Research. Her research focuses throughout her career has been perinatal
mortality, acute kidney injury and kidney development in premature and
Dr Kent commenced at NSW NETS in July 2020 as a senior staff specialist
duty consultant and is currently the co-chair of the research
committee, while continuing her animal research program in the USA.
