Non-Emergency Newborn Transport Nurse
The Non-Emergency Newborn Transport Nurse (Registered Nurse) is responsible for the safe inter-hospital transfer of newborns and infants from Neonatal Intensive Care Units or Special Care Nurseries in the Greater Sydney Metropolitan area to an appropriate hospital closer to the patient's home. In addition an inpatient within the scope of this service may require a specialist appointment at a tertiary neonatal facility and will be transported by the non-emergency transport nurse for the appointment and back to the patient's local health care facility.
Another key function of this position includes scheduling of patients for bookings, transfer and appointments from the Patient Flow Portal.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new service performing newborn transfers using specialised transport units in NETS ambulances working with an Emergency Vehicle Operator (EVO) whilst moving these patients throughout metropolitan and regional NSW. In addition, as a clinician you will be able to work autonomously whilst engaging with the wider NSW health network.
Candidates have the option to nominate to work out of the NETS State Headquarters at Bankstown Aerodrome or the satellite base in South Nowra.
