The Neonatal Ultrasound in Transport Study
has completed recruitment of 100 babies and the papers are in press -
watch this space. Results will be in the next edition of this newsletter.
We are now incorporating the use of ultrasound on selected NETS
retrievals.
This year we also published our experience following the launch of the
first few cases where we utilised the mobile neurosurgeon (B Owler, K
Browning Carmo, W Bladwell, A Fa'asalele, J Roxburgh, T Kendrick
& A Berry

NETS has been undertaking the first prospective study into the use of Hi
Flow Oxygen therapy in infants and children referred to NETS. This study
will examine the utility of this form of therapy and how it might be
incorporated into the retrieval environment.
Our Clinical Nurse Consultant, Tina Kendrick won the best nursing paper
at the ANZ Intensive Care conference in Auckland in 2015. Her paper
looked at a two phased study of the competency standards for practice for
critical care nurses.
