The PSN (Pregnancy and newborn Services Network) and NETS work closely together to improve and support services for mothers and babies. There are policies and guidelines published by the PSN:

The PSN operates the Perinatal Advice Line (PAL) supports clinicians seeking advice about management of high risk obstetric patients; including potential transfer to a higher level hospital.

NETS hosts the PAL

Select Option #2 after calling the NETS Hotline 1300 36 2500.

The system routes calls to any of the tertiary perinatal centres available to NSW and ACT hospitals for advice from that centre. Should it be required, callers can select to talk to a PAL Clinical Midwife Consultant; who is supported by a PAL Obstetrician.
