NETS Team

A NETS Team comprises a nurse and doctor and, for road missions, a NETS ambulance driver.

For air missions, CareFlight operates helicopters for NETS. These are conveniently located at the NETS Heliport and crewed by CareFlight pilots. These are dedicated to NETS missions and specially set up to provide for NETS teams. Other helicopters and fixed wing aircraft are provided by the Ambulance Service of NSW for journeys within NSW.

It is not unusual for NETS teams and the sick babies and children they care for to use different modes of transport for different parts of the journey. Whatever it takes to quickly and safely reach the child and then transport them to the right destination.

For long-distances outside NSW (eg outside Australia), NETS has access to charter jets, commercial airliners and even the Royal Australian Air Force.
